Sept 08:- Anthony Brooke with his mates
return again. Here's what Anthony had to say.
"Just to let you know we had a
great time at the lake the week before last.
All five of us had 30's and the biggest
carp was 46lb 10oz. Everyone managed to get a PB. We also had 3 good cats
of 59lb, 42lb & 32lb. I think we caught about a hundred fish and
managed over 2000lb which I thought was very good to say only two of us
fished through the night.
We had some brilliant days on the
lake and we will never forget them. On the Tuesday Dave on peg 4 took
almost an hour to land the 46lb carp and then hooked into the 59lb catfish
a bit later. The big cat then ran for peg 5 around the corner and into the
trees and Dave is not the best physique to get in a boat so I rowed
around from peg 3 and took the rod. It dragged me around the lake for
about 40 minutes before Gary on peg 10 had to come across from and tow me
to peg 6/7 by which time everyone was on that peg. We had fun and games
getting out of the boats with the fish still on and then a mad dash to peg
8 for the scales, landing net, unhooking mat and sling before landing it
after 5-10 minutes. A real team effort!
I went 4 days without getting
my craved 30lber and then fished peg 4 through the night to get it as it
was producing some big fish. Managed to land a 35lb 8oz mirror which I was
made up with. Went back to my peg in the morning and landed a 32lb 5oz
grass carp followed by another 30!!!"

Aug 08:- Colin on a 24hour ticket had a top
time. here is what he had to say.
'Well what can I say, A huge thank you
to Alan, Dave, Matthew, and Lyn. The hospitality you showed us was
much appreciated, we had a great time, what a fantastic lake, and what
fantastic fish! Can't wait to get back there. We caught, 22 lb mirror-26 lb
mirror-28 lb common-30 lb mirror-39 lb common.' |

|
July 08:- The Hann family return
for a fifth year with record breaking results. Harvin fished peg 3 for
two nights with Matthew and had 17 carp to 34lbs. He moved to peg 9, fishing
into peg 10 Harvin landed a further 49 carp to 53.4lbs fishing for 7
nights.
These are just some of the record haul that the Hann family had. the total weight for all the carp was, Peg (1) 3,190.9lbs. Peg (3) 374lbs and Peg (9) 1225lbs. Total number of carp/cats caught 182. Total no of thirties (carp) 41, with 5 x 40s and 1 x 50lb+. |

Carpology return for a third trip.
Dan, Joe and Robert from Carpology make it third time in a row, each time
they enjoy the mix of quality carp fishing and hospitality, it makes it a
chill out session for them all away from the pressures of publishing .
We don't give these guys any special treatment, everybody gets the same
service and hospitality. Just see the notes from other anglers below and
then experience it for yourself.
Note from Joe :- "Once again, it was amazing and trust me, it will be worth every penny to go. We go to many French fisheries each year, but this is only the second one that we’ve ever returned to, and we’ll be coming back once again next April."

May 08: Pete the Headmaster returns to mix it
up on peg one & eight, I just hope his pupils are just as well behaved
as our carp in the photos.
Note from Pete:
"Good to hear from you and thanks
once again for another memorable holiday. The standards of care and
efforts to please by everyone involved with Francecarp have not slipped in
any shape or form. The fact that nothing is ever too much trouble is, in
this day and age, simply wonderful. In having built everything
up for Craig and Mick, I was somewhat concerned that maybe the picture I
had drawn was slightly too rosy - nothing of the kind. In fact the picture
was decidedly deep red! Both of them are already talking about our return!"

May 08: Colin says it all.
hi Alan just wanted to say thank you for organising a fab week everything went smoothly regards getting there and back, and what a brilliant time we had at the lake food was fab fishing was fab and the fish were fab. One of the lads in our group who's a beginner really caught the lake record 52lb and two 40s :), another caught 1200lb of carp in a week considering the last venue we went to I had top weight of the week with only 3 fish at 115lb the fishing at your lake well exceeded our expectations, I didn't have a great week regards catching whopping carp but I made up with it by landing a 60lb catfish and now I'm addicted to fishing for them as they put up a right fight.
I put our success down to the expert
advice from Dave and especially his son Matthew who put us all on the
fish, nothing was too much trouble for him he was out in the boat Nearly
every day putting markers out for us to fish to and spent time both on
the bank and in the house talking over tactics.
Dave and Lyn are a credit to the
fishery providing us with everything we wanted and needed from
beers and food down to extra rods and bait for catfish, Lyn mothered us
all for the week providing top notch food breakfast, dinner and tea and
can i say the best quiche Lorraine I've ever tasted.
so all in all what a brilliant week,
the group all want to go back next year and id love to go again this
year but the Mrs wants to go away with me (not fishing) so ill have to
count the Penny's and see what I can do on that front :)
thanks again

The food was great and the weather wasn't too bad either. We had a total of 43 fish, several fish topping 38 1/2 lb. The smallest was 16lb. One of the highlights of our trip was catching 8 thirties in 24hrs. We had a total of 21 thirties and a lot of high 20's, and even managed to bag a 55lb catfish. We will definitely be booking for next year. Once again thank you for a fantastic fishing experience in France." Chris and John Pomphrey |

mate Nick spend a family holiday in France. Good food, wine, hospitality and
lots & lots of CARP. Even the girls had a go, her proud father taught
her all she knows!
Note from Tim, "I just thought I
would drop you a line to say we had a fantastic time at your lake. The
weather wasn’t on our side but it didn’t really matter. Dave and Lynn
really did look after us well, above and beyond the call of duty I can’t
speak highly enough of them. The fishing was great I have sent Dave some
pictures of the bigger one’s, I hope he gets them ok. Highlight of the
week was my 10 year old daughter playing and landing a 27lb 8oz mirror from
90 yards out! We liked it so much we are looking to return in October." Thanks
again. All the best Tim.

June 2007 :- Pete say's it all with his
letter to the chaps at carpology.
Hi all at CARPology, |
|
|
May 07:- Note from Ray, "I entered a
competition in the Carpology Magazine in 2006 to win a weeks fishing at
Etang du Soleil for 2 people. Alan Simpson phoned to tell me I had won
a drive and survive fishing trip. Martin and I set off on 16th May
from Stanstead Airport (having decided to upgrade to fly rather than drive),
and within 3 hours we were fishing. The lake, equipment and
hospitality were superb. We both had a very successful week, I had 14
fish, totaling over 300lb and Martin had 10 fish totaling just under 300lb.
I had the best weeks fishing ever having caught a mirror carp weighing
50.5lb (the lake record). Martin's biggest catch was a common carp
weighing 40lb." "The weeks flew by, we had a great time, loads of fish, good food cooked by Lyn and lots of good advice from Dave and Matthew. The only downside to the whole week was the photo of me with the huge carp!!!" "I will recommend Etang du Soleil to everyone, whether a solo trip, party or family, Dave and co. cater for all." "Our grateful thanks to all concerned, look forward to visiting you again in the near future." Ray Worth Martin Oliff Two lake records broken by the same person in the same session, 50lb8oz mirror & 28lb8oz Grassy. Both from peg 3 |

| March 06:- The
first of this seasons carp start to show. All taken from peg one and two with our
own boilies over a bed of pellet. What a week for Luke, each day he broke his PB, he ended up with
22 carp to 39 lb here are some of the best with two mirrors to 28lb, three commons to
29lb, mirrors at 17.5, 18lb, 23.5lb, 27lb, and 39lb. Then another common
at 30lb and finally two mirrors at 28lb and 31lb. Comment
from Luke, "I
think at first the lake looked a bit open and bare but we realized it was
the time of year and also the weather was colder than expected. But as
soon as we set eyes on the bay and looked out from the pegs we were
hooked! The fishing started of very slow but we read the water and within
a few days were in with a better chance, we realized early on that the
weather would play a big part in catching carp during the week and we
changed tactics almost daily. The
area was tranquil and the location was excellent (only a short hop from
the autoroute)." |
